Mold Maintenance Technician

FUNCTION

Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on molds, correcting mold defects, and completing required documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following; other duties may be assigned as apparent or required by management.

• Diagnoses and completes mold repairs in the Tool Shop and on the Production floor in accordance with the mold condition report.
• Performs preventative maintenance as required.
• Completes all required documents, including mold condition reports, mold spare parts report, and enters the data into the BDE system.
• Assists in training and directing Apprentices to meet production goals and learning objectives.
• Responsible for the care of mold components during all aspects of mold disassembly and assembly.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree in a Mechanical Science from a two-year college or technical school; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of metal polishing and mold electrical wiring.
• Ability to use various types of hand tools.
• Working knowledge of the metric measurement system.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word Processing software, Microsoft Access Database software and Profitemp software.
