Function:
An industry leader in the manufacture of construction and industrial goods for over 100-years has an immediate opening available for a Sr. Plant Cost Analyst. The purpose of the Plant Analyst’s role is to conduct monthly closings, analysis, and account reconciliations for a medium plant, two small plants, or a large plant with multiple accountants. The Plant Analyst is responsible for analysis of results and preparation of forecast for plant and business segments, capital and technical project accounting, standard cost and budget development and participates in process improvement activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Execute full financial support for plant management.
- Conduct detailed project capital and expense tracking.
- Prepare monthly forecasting and annual operating plan.
- Review, analyze and approve facility maintenance spend.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist in the development of plant BOMs, routings, and standards.
- Drive development of plant financial operating plan.
- Prepare and analyze month-end reports and project updates.
- Work closely with IT team to help resolve system issues.
- Reconcile related general ledger accounts.
- Create and improve financial processes and procedures for plant operations.
- Perform financial and strategic analysis to enable accurate business decisions and/or investments.
- Identify and drive cost reduction and working capital opportunities.
- Overseas plant procurement.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with a minimum of 5 years of finance/accounting experience.
- Experience with cost accounting (standard costing), budgeting, forecasting, month end and year end close activities and working with inventory management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel (formulas, V-Lookups, Pivot tables), PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Demonstrated analytical ability.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
- Moderate travel required (11 – 29 days per year).
- The work environment is typical of an office setting.
