Large and growing company in Indiana has an excellent opportunity available for a Product Development Manager. The Development Manager oversees the Product Development function. The function of this position includes evaluation and selection of raw materials, motivating employees, managing development projects and change requests, and facilitating a quality approach. This is a working Manager position in which the candidate will be expected to execute their own projects (including hands-on testing of materials) along with managing the departmental change requests and projects as well.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Product testing.
Project management.
Manage technical product development projects.
Effectively design, document, and analyze details of trials.
Motivate and manage employee developments.
Involved in the day-to-day activities of the development department.
Requirements:
College degree, preferably in Organic Chemistry or Polymers.
Minimum of five years product development (formulation) experience.
Experience in developing product specifications, new product launches and polymer test methods.
Raw material testing and development of specifications with suppliers.
In-depth knowledge of PVC and polymers.
Understanding of the processes of products.
International experience.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated problem solving abilities and critical thinking.
Test methods (ASTM) used in the polymer industry.
Experience in plastics, thermoplastics, polyolefins, extrusion, polypropylene, or polyethylene a plus.
