The Package Design Engineer will design packaging for the company’s clients’ finished products, ensuring adequate protection of the product and accurate and attractive display for marketing purposes. The Package Design Engineer will help the team identify the best practices for their overall supply chain packaging operation and help them implement process improvements.

FUNCTION

• Be primarily responsible for efficiently packaging the company’s clients’ finished products.
• Collaborates with staff from marketing, manufacturing, graphics, and shipping departments to optimize package design.
• Oversees the design of the finished product packaging, emphasizing marketability and cost efficiency.
• Tests packaging systems and components for new and existing products.
• Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to develop point-of-sale displays for products and packaging.
• Researches and introduces prototype packaging using materials such as folding cartons, plastics, and corrugated shipping containers.
• Drafts specifications for new packing.
• materials that will adequately protect finished products.
• Performs other duties as required.

• Extensive knowledge of packaging material and design.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software.
• Acute attention to detail; safety minded/orientated.
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ Years of package design preferred.
