Provides installation, repair and maintenance of injection molding machinery at customer locations throughout the United States.  Work duties include installing and start-up of new machinery, providing product training to customers, performing field service work (both minor and major repairs), providing technical support, and preparing new machines for customer shipping and installation.

Essential Functions:

Technical Service

• Promptly responds to work directions from Customer Service Manager.
• Fields phone calls and provides over-the-phone consultation and advice to customer and/or may need to respond to emergency customer situation and/or may schedule and repair machines at customer site.
• Performs machine preparation including cleaning, installation devices and changing components and parts (internal & external); installs options on new machines (e.g., wiring, drilling, etc.).
• Performs on-site technical services including machine installation & start-up, machine repair (minor & major) and troubleshooting, customer training and machine system modification.
• May perform routine periodic preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.

Customer Service & Support

• Promptly communicates with prospective and existing customers by phone, email, and facsimile regarding products, technical problems and solutions, etc.
• Demonstrates awareness of customer’s concerns for prompt and effective repair of equipment by promptly responding to calls and emails and presenting an agreeable service plan/strategy.
• Dresses in “business casual” attire when at customer site.
• Promptly contacts customers and office if problem/delay arises which prevents maintaining scheduled appointments.
• Provides on-site customer training and instruction on proper operation of equipment.
• Prepares service reports and maintains service records.

Other & Miscellaneous

• Associates degree (AA) and/or technical/certification training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Related experience of between three to five years; basic CAD proficiency; proficiency with mechanical, hydraulic, plastic processing, metal fabrication, machine tool – machinist (basic), welding, and soldering, computer and programmable logic control programming experience; reading machine assembly and dimensional drawing and drafting skills.
