Very large and growing company has an excellent opportunity available for an Applications Engineer. The Applications Engineer will be the key engineering interface to companies, customers, working closely with Key Account Manager and Engineering Teams to facilitate current and new business opportunities within the plastics engineering group. In this role, you will be the primary interface with operations related to engineering/customer issues, providing engineering and project management leadership and direction to internal and external customers. The Applications Engineer will be responsible for development of customer engineering relationships, field engineering support, and promotion of technical/product solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports and manages plastics development projects with responsibility for setting priorities, meeting customer deadlines, and coordinating required activities.
Acts as a customer engineering liaison; building and maintaining a strong customer network.
Creates and maintains project schedule and milestone tracking to drive projects to successful completion ensuring accountability amongst all key stakeholders.
Creates project justifications and ensures target financial goals are achieved.
Responsible for quoting.
Facilitates decision making and/or selection of products, components or specific product development projects.
Drives for continuous improvement of products and product development processes.
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum five years industry experience.
Automotive or commercial vehicle experience – preferred.
Plastics injection molding experience and knowledge – preferred.
Experience with PPAP process and quality documentation including PFMEA’s,
DFMEA’s, Control Plans, and APQP checklists – preferred.
