This is a very highly visible position with a global company reporting directly to the VP of Purchasing of North America for a large global chemical company.  This position will lead purchasing efforts for all raw materials used in the creation of the company’s final product (chemicals).  You will be mentoring a staff of two Jr. Buyers on a daily basis while creating cost savings goals for the department.  You will need to communicate with established suppliers and continuously identify new potential suppliers both domestic and global. 

Experience Required:

This Buyer position will be responsible for sourcing chemicals on a global level ranging in annual spend from $25-50 million dollars.  Qualified buyers will need to be well versed in negotiations with suppliers to the chemical industry. You will need to have daily updates on products fluctuating costs in the market place to keep overall product costs at certain levels.  Realizing cost saving by establishing new raw materials suppliers will be key.
