Function:

Growing plastics company with multiple manufacturing locations has an excellent opportunity available for a Corporate Engineering Manager. The Corporate Engineering Manager will manage process and product development projects in a high-paced manufacturing environment as well as assisting maintenance team with troubleshooting and repair of process equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Chief technical position in corporation

  • Will work on multiple projects/activities

  • Administer all aspects of large equipment installation projects from start to finish for the corporation (multi-plants)

  • Directly manage a small team of engineers, electricians, and riggers to install and build capital projects

  • Manage a project-base team of 6-10 Mechanics, Electricians, and Control Technicians

  • Coordinate outside contractors as required to complete capital improvement projects

  • Maintain corporate cap-ex budget

  • Lead the production floor troubleshooting of installed (existing) machinery

  • Train production personnel in the use of new equipment, tooling or process improvements

  • Improve machine operating efficiencies

  • Increase production rates and verify rate increases do not affect the quality of product produced

  • Be the front facing person to regulatory agencies, National, State, and Local (OSHA, environmental, fire, sewer, water, building permits)

  • Technical contact person for all utilities used by plants (electrical, natural gas, water, sewage)

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering

  • Six Sigma and or project management credentials preferred

  • Previous process/manufacturing experience (5-10 years)

  • Proven track record of implementing improvements to machinery and equipment

  • Strong knowledge and experience working with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks

  • Previous experience working with integrating electrical and mechanical systems

  • Previous experience in engineering and/or process control

  • Good communicator with all levels of the organization. Able to be a hands-on type person and assist production with problem resolution.

  • Good leadership skills

  • Computer literate (Excel, Word, Project Management software, AutoCAD/SolidWorks)

  • Experience in the plastics industry is a must

  • Experience in either injection molding, blow molding, polyethylene, polypropylene, extrusion, thermoforming, blown film, HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE or thermoplastics a plus
