Fast growing global company with sales of $350 million dollars is searching for a Process Engineering Manager. Position can be based in either New Hampshire or McAllen, TX. This position sets the direction, oversees implementation, and provides training for the molding activities in NA facilities. The position is key to attain strategic objectives through continuous improvement in productivity, quality, cost and budget compliance.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Establish a robust process window by applying Scientific / Decoupled Molding techniques along with design of experiments (DOEs).

  • Establish a relationship between key process input variables and key process output variables for each component.

  • Specify the equipment required in the molding cell for an application to include molding press, robot, EOAT, hot runner controller, water temperature controller, material loader, weigh blender, dryers, inspection equipment, etc.

  • Participate in factory acceptance tests (FATs) at the mold vendor.

  • Manage complex projects and maintain project timeline and budget.

  • Develop a business case for to improve the quality and reduce the cost of molded components.

  • Read and maintain a working knowledge of quality procedures and work instructions.

  • Provides technical process support to the multi-plant organization and mentor molding technicians.

  • Interface with the site Molding Managers daily to review efficiency / scrap reports and to establish then implement corrective actions.

  • Manage sampling program.

  • Determine production needs related to process and other technical issues.

  • Establish documentation requirements for all processes including, but not limited to: process sheets and database for set-up information, special notes and to maintain required history.

  • Create and administer training programs for Process and Mold Set-up Technicians as well as existing staff on new equipment.

  • Maintain knowledge of production schedule and ensure technical issues are acknowledged and addressed to support schedule.

  • Act as technical lead responsible for new mold sampling, DOE’s, material samples, engineering changes, etc.

  • Establish injection molding and robotic process for all new jobs.

  • Establish acceptable process variation allowances and associated process window.

  • Act as technical lead on reduction projects for scrap through controlled planning.

  • Lead automation projects and continuous improvement activities.

  • Mentor and develop other Process Engineers.

  • Provide technical guidance for mold and hot runner design.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • This position requires experience in plastic injection molding.

  • Frequent travel required to Reynosa, MX.

  • BS degree in a relevant technical engineering or manufacturing discipline or equivalent education gained through work experiences.

  • Five to 10 years of experience in plastics engineering or related engineering.

  • Formal training in Decoupled or Scientific Molding – Master Molder status preferred.

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
