Function:

Fast growing company in the plastics resins business is searching for a Director of Sales. This is a home based position and can be based in Massachusetts, New England, CT, New York, Pennsylvania and other Northeastern location. This is an individual contribution position and will not be managing any sales people. The position will be responsible for developing new business in the PVC and TPE/Elastomer Resins/Compounds Business. Experience in selling into the extrusion, injection molding or compounding industry is highly preferred. The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus potential, comprehensive benefits and a car allowance.

 

Accountability will center on revenue, margin and relationship management/expansion including prospecting, forecasting, achievement of sales objectives and directing activities across functional groups in support of account goals.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Profitable revenue growth, including robust new business development
  • Deliver Annual Operating Plan (AOP) results
  • Establish, track, and close new business targets consistent with short and long-term objectives at designated accounts
  • Prospecting and cold calling
  • Develop, execute and manage sales plans, sales budgets, and expense budgets
  • Establish account development plans and network resources up, down and across both the customer’s organization
  • Effective and collaborative working relationship with technical services to accelerate and drive profitable growth through selling optimal product mix to targeted accounts
  • Establish a linkage between the customer’s business strategy
  • Implement pricing and market strategies as well as business practices
  • Participate in strategy development, help position the business and develop the offer
  • Assist in defining the target markets, and commercial strategy
  • Develop written account plans for targeted accounts including metrics to define annualized sales potential at each account
  • Manage strategic relationships, cultivate new alliances, and monitor competitive activity

Requirements:

  • Five to seven years of experience selling PVC/TPE Resin, PVC/TPE Compounding, Plastics, Polymers or Thermoplastics

  • Experience in or knowledge of extrusion and/or injection molding processes is highly desirable

  • Strong “hunter mentality” selling approach supported by a proven ability to build a sales pipeline from scratch

  • Ability to travel up to 75%

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, or manufacturing operations desired

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly-changing, high-growth environment

  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and pitch in to make things happen
