Function:

Well established company that has been in business for over 50-years is searching for a Sr. Electrical Engineer. Under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager, the incumbent coordinates activities and manages power circuit, control circuit, and logic design for machines. These designs are to meet specifications as outlined for product development, sales orders, field modifications, and service requests. The incumbent participates in team interaction to organize, schedule, and specify standardize design approach and documents for Electrical Engineer activities.

 

Core Functions/Duties:

 

  • Designs, develops, and implements power circuit, control circuit, and logic software for product development, customer orders, product revisions, updates and enhancements

  • Designs electrical circuits and/or modifications as required per customer requests.

  • Selects components and generates part lists.

  • Participates in team activities to achieve efficient work throughput and quality of results.

  • Adheres to engineering standards and standardization of options for power circuit, control circuit, and software design.

  • Provides weekly status and work assignment reports on all active jobs. Keeps supervisor informed on all activities, problems, and status of assigned responsibilities.

  • Serves as Project Manager for special assignments such as complex machine orders.

  • Writes description forms (EDF/ODF/SDF) so that adequate interpretation of customer options is met, adequate testing is performed, and adequate documentation for future reference is retained.

  • Produces quality, cost effective, error-free designs.

  • Simulates and reviews each design for safe and correct machine sequence and assures industrial standards are met.

  • Participates in Quality Action and cross-functional teams.

  • Ensures that control drawings are accurate and comply with standards.

  • Ensures that software machine, parts and service releases are complete, tested, and documented.

  • Sets and meets engineering release dates per priorities and schedule requirements for development and processing customer orders.

  • Updates and corrects current estimates of jobs in terms of schedule dates and forecasts engineering, drafting, and programming hours. Reports any revisions or corrections to estimates.

  • Coordinates and maintains assignments and schedules of work based on priorities and orders received.

  • Serves as Group Leader; provides technical leadership and coaches group associates.

  • Any and all other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

     

     

     

Requirements:

  • Four year Engineering degree with minimum of five years related machinery power/control/logic engineering experience.

  • Exposure to a Capital Equipment environment.

  • Machine tooling experience.
