Job Description:  

My client a premier manufacturer of commercial and consumer goods has an immediate leadership opportunity available in their corporate headquarters for a Quality Manager.  

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure plant and supplier quality practices are in accordance with corporate quality requirements and procedures.

• Develop, manage and report on compliance with procedures.

• Identify, initiate and implement improvements of processes to optimize internal and supplier quality performance.

• Supervise, train, support and mentor Quality Department subordinates.

• Identify problems/areas for improvement and take a lead role in corrective action.

• Assume lead auditor role for internal quality audits including process, product, system and dock audits.

• Provide quality related training/education for production personnel.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor quality of products produced and materials received.

• Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and customers.

• Use quality tools and statistical methods such as 8D, SPC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA

• Perform other job related duties as necessary to fulfill responsibilities of position.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Quality, Engineering or related field required.  Must have 3 years of quality assurance work experience.  Must have knowledge of ISO 9000, QS 9000 or TS16949.  Must have experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, control plans and 8D corrective action.  Must have experience with successfully leading employees to achieving key operating goals and objectives.  Must have strong computer skills as well as high level of energy and demonstrated results in getting actions completed in a timely and profitable plan.  Must be able to read industry blueprints and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.  Proficiency in MS Office product including Word and Excel.  Must have good human relation, effective communication, and logical judgment skills.

Job Description/Qualifications:

This position is within a very large electronics company with locations around the world. They are looking for someone that has senior management or director level experience in Quality and Product Assurance.  You will manage a staff of at least 10 directly with an over all reporting group of over 20.  You Must have up to date ISO9001 environment experience and training.  You will be responsible for preparing Quality Reports for senior management.  Using your continuous improvement background on a daily basis will be a necessity.    

All qualified candidates Must currently or recently been in a heavy manufacturing environment as the head of a large Quality or Engineering department of 10 or more.  You Must have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a Masters strongly desired along with 10+ years of engineering and management experience.  Must also have multi-site experience.  You Must have the strong leadership ability to create a world class Quality department in a very large scale department.
